Luc Delany

Director of Creative Technology & Esports Northern Lights Arena Europe

Luc has spent nearly 20 years working with the worlds leading technology and video games companies.

Luc was Google’s first EU Public Policy hire, where he faced a litany of issues from online safety, content regulation and privacy. He went onto be Facebook’s second Public Policy hire for the EMEA region where he worked across a multitude of public policy challenges including child safety, privacy, competition, liability, civil liberties, safety and security.

He is an industry leader, having founded Delany & Co, a strategic advisory and public policy agency to the world's leading technology and games companies in 2013. Through Delany & Co, Luc has founded the International Social Games Association, the European Collaborative Economy Forum and the Mobile Games Industry Forum.

Luc has spoken and given testimony in Parliaments and in regulatory hearings around the world. He is a media commentator, regularly appearing on TV, Radio and in print.

Luc joined the board of the Northern Lights Arena Europe (NLAE) early 2019 and became Director of Creative Technology and Esports. NLAE’s mission is to leverage creative technologies, education and entertainment as tools for urban development and regeneration. NLAE is reimagining the future of venues as technology enabled multi-purpose hubs to improve the lives of the local community and beyond. Our multi-purpose venues create an ecosystem, linking with Further Education and Higher Education pathways, creating long-term sustainable employment opportunities.

Luc is a fellow of the British American Project and sits on the External Advisory Board to Maastricht University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
